Brian Waluchio, Chief Executive Officer of the Group’s East Africa operations, met with Henry Oryem Okello, State Minister for Foreign Affairs recently as part of a meet and greet session with businesses in the area.
The event, which was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, provided an opportunity for Brian to talk to the lawyer and politician about the expansion of Oxygen8’s African footprint into Uganda. The event also allowed Brian to talk about the successful growth of its Kenyan business, which in less than 24 months has become a major player in the mobile value-added services (MVAS) space in the region.
Brian Waluchio commented: “It was a fantastic opportunity and great honor to meet Henry Oryem Okello and talk to him about Oxygen8’s achievements in Uganda and East Africa in general“.
Henry Oryem Okello, added: “It’s truly inspirational to meet aspiring business men like Brian. The meet and greet was a great opportunity for me to get up to speed on what’s happening in the business world here in Uganda and it’s exciting to learn more about Oxygen8’s growth within the region”.
Henry Oryem Okello serves as the elected Member of Parliament for “Chua County” Kitgum District and holds the degree of Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with Honors, from the University of Buckingham. He also holds the degree of Master of Laws (LLM), from the University of Southampton obtained in 1989. He was a practicing Barrister-at-Law in Britain, before he left to join Uganda’s politics in 2001.
